Within the framework of Education for Citizenship in the Mediterranean countries, an interesting learning exchange took place on 16 December between two Tunisian schools participating in the “Forming Responsible Citizens” project.
Teachers and students from the March 2, 1934 High School in Korba have visited Maktar’s technical high school in order to grow the link between the two schools and to organize and begin a shared dialogue.
This initiative has been planned with the local partner – the Centre for Social Development and Empowerment (SDEC) – which participates and coordinates the activity and has the objective of strengthening the relationship and organizing future common activities of active citizenship between the two schools.
During this event, students have had the opportunity to learn about initiatives carried out by the other school, have been able to strengthen their social skills with other students and present the main facets of their citizenship activities.
The Forming Responsible Citizens project promotes teacher training that allows them to reinforce their role as educators by encouraging young people to engage in dialogue, and building respect by strengthening their capacity for reflection, imagination and curiosity.
The Forming Responsible Citizens project is in partnership with Ideaborn Foundation, the Moroccan Center for Civic Education, the Social Development and Empowerment Center, the Jordanian Centre for Civic Education, the Adyan Foundation and the Lebanese National Commission for UNESCO.
It is labeled by Union for Mediterranean and financed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway& the Principality of Monaco.
