“Mi Universo” (My Universe) by Douglas Rivera Cordova, winning Artwork of the ideaborn Art Contest 2020

The artwork has been conceived using original material such as cardboard. This choice brings two purposes. One, as a recyclable material, it provides an excellent example of environmental sustainability and two, the cardboard is used as a globalized society icon.
The young boy, who takes the central scene coming out from this reality, expresses the people’s desire to maintain their own identity and rescue the knowledge of the original inhabitants of the region.

La Paz, Bolivia 1992, plastic artist graduated from the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés with a degree for academic excellence in Graphic Design and Arts.
Douglas began his career in plastic arts at the age of 12 at the EMDA Municipal School of Arts in El Alto. He was the youngest artist to win the GRANPREME of the LXII SALON PEDRO DOMINGO MURILLO in 2014, one of the most important awards in the Bolivian Art scene.
Douglas counts with individual and collective art exhibitions in different spaces, galleries and museums.
